Who We Are

The HDB Service Group, Inc. is an Oldham County, KY based non-profit organization.  We operate a family of services focused on improving access to health care, including MedTrans of Oldham County, LOCAL Transit, and the Community Care Clinic.  MedTrans and LOCAL are transportation services, while The Community Care Clinic provides primary care for people without health insurance (please see below for explanations of each).

The HDB Service Group, Inc. works cooperatively with the Oldham County Red Cross, Community Chest, the Oldham County Health Department, and other organizations, and is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

What We Do

MedTrans

Weekdays 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Service in Oldham County.

MedTrans provides wheelchair accessible transportation for scheduled medical appointments and treatments, or to pick up medications.  Each person using MedTrans must register prior to the first trip.  MedTrans is free of charge to people 60 & over; others pay $3.00 one-way and $6.00 roundtrip.  Some Medicaid recipients may also be covered for medically related trips.

LOCAL Transit

Weekdays 7:00 am – 5:30 pm

LOCAL is wheelchair accessible public transportation that takes passengers to the grocery store, pharmacy, Wal-Mart and other convenient stops throughout LaGrange.  An additional route that serves Crestwood and Pewee Valley is tentatively planned to be in operation by February of 2007.  LOCAL costs $1.00 per ride, 50¢ for seniors and is free for children 3 and under.

Community Care Clinic Tuesdays 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm (by appointment only)

People from any area can visit the clinic for primary medical care.  Certain conditions are referred to specialists outside of normal clinic operations.  The clinic is staffed by licensed medical professionals.  A Clinic Manager is on site daily to coordinate appointments, patient follow-ups, and physician contacts.

Prescription Access (Clinic Patients only)

This free service assists patients of the Community Care Clinic in obtaining prescription medication at free or reduced cost using drug company Patient Assistance Programs; information and assistance with Medicare Part D.  For more information call the clinic at (502) 225 – 4564 weekdays between 8am and 5pm.
