"LOCAL" stands for Local Oldham County Access Line. LOCAL Transit is the first fixed route public transit service in Oldham County and has been in operation since September 6, 2006. Anyone can ride LOCAL to get to work, shop, or visit friends.
The cost to ride LOCAL is $1.00 for adults and children over age 3, and 50 cents for seniors. LOCAL buses have 12 seats and room for 2 wheelchairs.
Two LOCAL routes serve LaGrange Monday thru Friday. The RED Route has 18 stops during the day in LaGrange. The BLUE Route has 21 stops in LaGrange. Route schedules are available on each of the buses.
Janice, a LOCAL passenter who recently moved to LaGrange, wrote, "I can't tell you how much I appreciate the bus and all of the friends I've made through it. I ride two times a week and love it...thanks!" David Mattingly, a LOCAL Transit driver, says, "People tell me all of the time that LOCAL is the best thing that's happened here in a long time."
